Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

We are a Federation of two schools located over three sites working as one team

To be a federation of happy and positive schools where everyone learns together. Staff lead learning in an environment of mutual respect, where everyone makes a contribution. We strive for excellence, driven by our passion to provide the very best education for all pupils. The working climate, supported by a strong Christian ethos, ensures every individual is valued.

It is a great privilege to be the Executive Co-Headteachers for the Koinonia Federation.

Our family focussed and innovative approach to securing success for every child in our care has led to St. Mary Magdalene being much sought after for many years in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.  St Mary Magdalene received a positive Ofsted report in May 2018, which graded us as Good in all areas and a very positive SIAMS inspection report in Spring 2018, grading us Outstanding in all areas.  Since April 2013 we have led another school community in Greenwich, Christ Church Church of England Primary. Christ Church received a very positive Ofsted report in January 2017, which graded it as Good. Our two schools now work in collaboration, which has helped us share our expertise in delivering quality education to the pupils of Greenwich.

At our Peninsula Campus we have one Reception class, two Year 1 classes and a Year 2 class. This will grow year on year through the primary phase. Our proven track record of exceptional leadership at primary level on three school sites has driven us to expand into secondary education. Our St. Mary Magdalene C of E School site on the Peninsula will be the first All- through school in Royal Greenwich and the only secondary Church of England provision in the borough.

At each of our schools we nurture students from all backgrounds with care and dignity: developing them academically as well as supporting any spiritual and special individual needs they may have. We are an inclusive school and explicit and deeply embedded Christian ethos is strong. Our staff routinely go the ‘extra mile’ for students and families, we are proud of our successful and effective working relationships.

The links between home and school are very important to us and seen as a strength of the school. We are very fortunate to have full time Home School Link Workers at St. Mary Magdalene and at Christ Church who can support you and your family if you have any concerns. As well as this, there is always a member of our leadership team available in the playground before and after school to answer any queries you may have.

Both schools have strong Parish links with our churches. We work closely with Reverend Jesse Van der Valk and Reverend Margaret Cave.

The school communities attend church services at least once a term. We support our local communities with harvest gifts, food bank supplies and other charity work.

We aim for the highest standards of behaviour, co-operation, understanding and individual achievement, which are made possible by home and school working together in close partnership. We hope you will join us in supporting your child in their school life as much as possible.

We look forward to working with you during your child’s time with us in their primary education.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Claire Harrison and Mrs Victoria Wainwright
