We aim to produce numerate, logical, problem-solving students who can apply their mathematical knowledge both in further study within mathematics and other disciplines, and in real-life situations.

We teach our children to become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics, including through varied and frequent practice with increasingly complex problems over time. This enables pupils to develop conceptual understanding and the ability to recall and apply knowledge rapidly and accurately.

Through our teaching of mathematics our children develop their ability to use number, calculate, reason and solve problems. This helps children to understand relationships and patterns in both number and space in their everyday lives.

Our primary phase follow the White Rose maths scheme (which can be found here). This enables us to provide breadth and balance in our teaching of mathematical skills and concepts.
