Co-Curriculum at St Mary Magdalene C of E
At St Mary Magdalene C of E, the co-curriculum is a central part of how students learn, grow and discover their strengths. With over 90 clubs and societies and nearly 100 trips and visits each year, students gain access to a wide range of experiences that complement their academic learning. Our aim is to foster a lifelong love of learning and equip students to make a positive contribution to society.
Our approach is shaped by our values.
To Live as Family
Students feel a strong sense of belonging. Through clubs, teams and shared experiences, they build friendships, develop leadership skills and learn to support one another.
To Grow in Faith
We offer opportunities that develop reflection, creativity and understanding of the world. From cultural visits to the Royal Opera House and English Heritage sites to Bible Club and Collective Worship, students of all faiths and none are encouraged to explore their beliefs and values in an inclusive environment.
To Be United in Fellowship
Our co-curriculum brings students together across backgrounds, interests and year groups. Taking part in community projects, sports fixtures, performances and educational visits helps them work collaboratively and appreciate the diversity of our school community.
Ambition for Every Student
Opportunities are designed so that all students can take part and succeed. Whether trying something new or pursuing excellence in sport, the arts or academic competitions, every student is supported to aim high.
Safe and Inclusive
All activities – large or small – are planned carefully to ensure safety, quality and fairness. Cost is never allowed to become a barrier, and every student is encouraged to get involved, develop their confidence and feel proud of their achievements.
