The Curriculum Map provides an overview of the Themes and core texts that are to be covered each half term. Most themes are driven by either a history or geography focus. The themes have been placed in certain year groups or at specific times of year to support progression of skills and subject knowledge. Some themes have been placed specifically to enable teachers to use the local environment or resources within our locality.

Each half term an overview of the theme a year group is covering should be created using the Federation Template. The theme overview outlines what the children will be creating or producing in each area of the curriculum. This overview is shared on our website as well as with the children at the beginning of each half term.
We endeavour to instil a ‘love for learning’ in all our children. The schools are situated in close proximity to the world heritage site in Greenwich and has good transport links to central London, we use these resources as part of the curriculum. Parents are informed of the learning taking place each term in a class newsletter.
In September 2014 the Government introduced a new national curriculum for all maintained schools. More details about the new curriculum can be found here.

There are two PE slots allocated to classes each week.
KS1: Pupils should be taught fundamental movement skills, become increasingly competent and confident and access a broad range of opportunities to extend their agility, balance and coordination, individually and with others. They should be able to engage in competitive (both against self and against others) and cooperative activities, in a range of increasingly challenging situations.
KS2: Pupils should continue to apply and develop a broader range of skills, learning how to use them in different ways and to link them to make actions and sequences of movement. They should enjoy communicating, collaborating and competing with each other. They should develop an understanding of how to improve in different physical activities and sports and learn how to evaluate and recognise their own success.
In Key Stage 2 children attend swimming lessons at the Wavelengths leisure centre as part of the requirements of the Physical Education Curriculum.
MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES (MFL)
At the start of each academic year children in Key Stage 2 are able to choose to learn either French or Spanish. They have one lesson of MFL each week and these lessons are currently taught by Pili Tormo who are members of our secondary team.
LEARNING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
Residential Educational Visits in Years 4 and 6 offer the children an opportunity to experience outdoor learning within a different environment.
Children have the opportunity to participate in various clubs organised by staff members of the school. These usually take place after school.
