In the Koinonia Federation we follow the Southwark Diocese Board of Education’s (SDBE) scheme of work alongside the Royal Borough of Greenwich syllabus for RE.  Religious topics covered focus on developing the children's knowledge and understanding of the world we live in and the people we live with. We encourage our pupils to embrace diversity within the community we live in and support their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

As a Church of England school, our Christian beliefs are very important to us. When teaching the children about other religions, we always think about how they reflect our Christian values.  Our RE lessons involve enquiry, discussion, educational visits and creativity - facilitating children exploring their own beliefs.

Children are taught to respect and value the religious beliefs, cultural practices and life experiences of others, embedding the British Values of mutual respect and tolerance.

As a church school, R.E is a core subject for us.  As such, each class has its own reflection area in which the children can take time to reflect and pray.  This space also showcases the high-quality work produced in class.
