Father God,
Why do we have to do so much waiting?
Waiting for the weekend, waiting for payday.
Waiting for the day to end or something to start.
Waiting for results, waiting for a change.
Waiting for a call and waiting for an answer.
Lord God, Lent feels a long time to wait for the celebration of Easter.
As the disciples waited in darkness until the dawn of the resurrection,
give us strength to keep waiting and hoping.
As disciples of Jesus, we wait for your coming.
Bless us with your spirit that we might wait in faith and grow in courage and wisdom.
As we ready ourselves to celebrate, ready us to spread good news every day:
The Good News of Jesus and the good news of life.
