King’s College London Mental Health Research Project

We are pleased to announce our school’s participation in an exciting research collaboration with King’s College London, focusing on youth mental health. This project will involve all year groups and centres on gathering data through a student-informed questionnaire designed to explore the underlying factors contributing to mental health challenges in young people.

A key focus of the research is addressing the gender disparity in mental health, particularly the higher rates of reported mental health struggles among young women. The insights gathered will not only contribute to a national research project but also provide our school with valuable, real-time data to inform targeted interventions and support strategies for our students.

In addition, selected older students will have the opportunity to work directly with the research team, supporting data collection and gaining hands-on experience in academic research—an excellent enrichment opportunity and potential stepping stone into higher education and related careers.

This project reinforces our commitment to prioritising student wellbeing and ensuring our pastoral and personal development work is informed by evidence and student voice.
